Alright so there's like waaaay much thought put into this concept/project/idea. I don't remember how I came up with it, but that's not important anyway.
So presenting: The people above are actual people. It's teh girls with their loved one's. Here's the order in which they show, along with a link to an individual image of each character+ their character names:
-- The idea of this concept would be: We are a kick ass team, fighting pixel monsters in the virtual world called Vectoria. Each of us got a weapon that is inspired by the Illustrator tool box. ^brgtt has got herself a pentool gun. ^pica-ae has got herself a Text Tool gun. I've got myself a Pencil tool hammer. `ChewedKandi has got herself a multiple brush shield. Sameria is our save point. *Outovsyt must do more vector before he's allowed to hold dangerous weapons, so for now he is in control of the selection tool and zoom in+out buttons. ~LarsTheFan doesn't have any weapons, but he does control the teleportation tool that gets all us others in and out of the virtual world called Vectoria.
I'm afraid to confirm that this concept is not pixel friendly. Don't take me to seriously, because I certainly don't.
It's all for fun! Enjoy!
Please don't steal, I find that very unpleasant. I put major time into this drawing, the entire idea and the story in general. Thanks.
I used one of Sameria's photo's [link] , made available by `ChewedKandi
Stars in the back were made with an illustrator brush created by ^pica-ae

(EDIT) Changed the background from city scape to pixel virus. Thank you `ChewedKandi for the suggestion. And I also wanna thank ^pica-ae, `ChewedKandi and ^brgtt for their constant feedback.
What a project and what a pleasure it has been to both be in it and be able to see it from conception to the finished project.
My critique is going to be based on the whole thing. Cos let me just say to anyone who is reading this critique, this image is not the whole thing... there is a beautifully written and comical short story introducing you to this motley crew!
I certainly takes a fair degree of skill to be able to create graphically representations of your friends and their other halves and to have them happy with the results.
Let me go into the character design... first of all, they all accurately represent the personalities of the people involved... Lars being in a stern pose, Line being in a relaxed and confident pose, Anne being some what reserved with her hand near her face, showing a little under confidence and shyness, which is very true to the personality of Anne. Nas in a bit of a confidence and wacky pose... Shar (myself!) being in a sarcastic/don't give a fuck pose and Paul being in a shy pose also, turning his back away from people.
Not just the rendering of the characters, but also the insane detailing on the weapons. A lot of thought has gone into the tools each of the personalities use as major elements in their work. For instance Anne being into typography vector styles has a weapon based on the type tool. My tool is based on using the paintbrush tool.
Then on top of that, the fantastic clothing! Simplely amazing. One little detail I appreciate is our body shapes... I'm not exactly a slender woman and rocking a size 22. This has been implimented in my body shape and clothing to appear as flattering as possible. Wonderful!
The story accompanying this piece is funny as anything. I was almost in tears with it, although it might be seen as a very personal, inside joke piece... I believe other vector artists would sympathise with the constant battle against the raster!
Well they are in the drop down menu on my profile because I'm either contributor, co-founder, founder or moderator of those groups..So they are displayed because..err I got an *important* role, so to speak. I'm not just a regular member. When you are a regular member, the groups don't show in the drop down menu on your profile.
Strange. When I was a member of a couple of groups, before the DA upgrade, I had a drop-down menu for my GROUPS. How is that possible? I knew you were (err) important to the workings of DA, but I had this function before, but not now. Most confused.
Ah well then I don't know how to make it happen Mine are there, and I thought they were there because I wasn't just a regular member. I didn't actually do anything in my settings or the like to have the drop menu pop up..I don't know. Ehm try asking ^brgtt, she's the first person to spring to my mind who might know the answer to your question. I'll send her the link to this comment history whenever I catch her

Bravo Nas, I can't wait to see more!
